PrecisionBlast started in 2008 with one blast pot, one compressor, and a rented 2,000-square-foot bay on the east side of Houston. Eighteen years later we run a 22,000-square-foot yard off Hillsboro Street, six mobile rigs, and a shop crew that has stripped and recoated everything from a pressure vessel to a 1969 Camaro.
What hasn't changed is the way we work. We still walk every job before we quote it. We still test before we coat. And we still tell clients when blasting isn't the right answer for what they need done.
The first job was a set of three dump truck beds for a construction company in Pasadena. The founder — a former industrial coatings inspector — had spent fifteen years watching blasting contractors either overcharge or under-deliver, and figured there was room for a shop that just did the work right and charged a fair price for it.
The dump truck beds turned into more dump truck beds, then storage tanks at a Baytown terminal, then structural steel for a fabrication shop in Northwest Houston. By 2012 the single blast bay had become four, and by 2016 the shop was running its own mobile division because customers kept asking for field work we couldn't do with a trailer rig.
Along the way we learned what separates a good blasting job from a bad one, and it's almost never the equipment. It's the discipline around three things: specifying the right grade, measuring before you guess, and never cutting the prep short. Every part of how the shop runs today traces back to those three principles.

What had been an occasional side job for local restoration shops became a dedicated bay with its own crew, media inventory, and photographic documentation process.

Everything about how this shop operates comes down to four commitments. They're not mission-statement abstractions — they're the specific things we do differently from the shops that cut corners.
We don't quote a job from a phone call if we can avoid it. We go out, measure the surface, take gauge readings, and only then do we put a number on paper. Every estimate we write references what we saw on site, not what we assumed.
Moisture readings on concrete. Chloride tests on steel. Adhesion tests on existing finishes. We test before we recommend a coating, and we tell clients when the surface isn't ready — even when it costs us the job.
Every job gets a file. Photos before, during, and after. Gauge readings, DFT logs, environmental conditions at blast time. If a client asks six months later what the profile was on a particular panel, we have the answer.
Some jobs shouldn't be blasted. Some coatings shouldn't be applied. Some schedules can't be met safely. We've walked away from more work than most shops bid on — because a bad job costs the client more than a lost quote costs us.
