Four-day field schedule
Field crews work four 10-hour days and have three days off. That's unusual in this industry. The result is a crew that arrives Monday rested instead of Monday already tired.
Blasting is hard work and we don't pretend otherwise. What we do differently is staff the shop so nobody runs a rig alone, buy safety gear that actually works instead of the cheapest legal version, and pay for the certifications that move people into better-paying roles.
Currently hiring five positions. Full benefits from day one.
Industrial trades have a reputation for burning people out. Some of that is the work itself — but most of it is how the shop is run. These are the specific things we do differently.

Supplied-air respirators, climate-controlled blast hoods, and modern hearing protection. We replace gear when it's worn, not when it fails. You shouldn't have to argue for the equipment you need to stay healthy.
OSHA 30, confined space, and SSPC training all paid for by the shop. Two operators per year go through NACE inspector training on our dime. We want people to grow into better-paying roles.
We don't hire up for a big job and lay off afterward. Slow weeks are slow weeks, but everyone on payroll stays on payroll. That's why average tenure here is 6.4 years.
Every field lead and shop supervisor at this company started as an operator. The last three shop managers came up through the bays. If you want a path, there's a path.
Not a 90-day wait, not a "we'll talk about it after probation" — benefits start the day you start. Here's the package.
Medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Company pays 80% of employee premium and 50% of dependent premium.
Eligible after 90 days. Company matches 100% of contributions up to 4% of salary. Vesting is immediate — no cliff.
Two weeks PTO starting year one, three weeks after year three, four weeks after year seven. Plus 8 paid holidays and a floating birthday day.
All industry certifications paid in full. OSHA 30, confined space, SSPC, NACE, and manufacturer training. Time spent in training is paid time.
$400 annual allowance for boots and personal protective equipment beyond what the company provides. No receipt required for anything under $75.
Time-and-a-half over 40 hours. Night and weekend field work pays a $3/hour differential on top of the base rate. Emergency call-out pays double for the first 4 hours.
Applications are accepted through the form at the bottom of this page or by emailing [email protected]. Include a resume if you have one; if you don't, tell us about your experience in the message field.
Run blasting equipment in the shop bays and on mobile field rigs. Work with coal slag, steel grit, garnet, glass bead, and aluminum oxide across industrial, marine, and automotive substrates. Read and follow SSPC specifications.
Apply powder coating in the spray booth and manage parts through the cure oven. Handle masking, outgassing, and final inspection. Work with a wide range of parts — machine guards, architectural metal, automotive wheels, and industrial brackets.
Work in the automotive build bay stripping classic and custom cars. Warp-safe media selection, panel-by-panel documentation, and coordination with paint shops and collectors. Our automotive division is booked 4–6 weeks out and needs a third technician.
Operate a Class 8 blast truck or tow a blast trailer to job sites across the 150-mile service radius. Set up containment, run the blast rig once on site, and demobilize. Combination driving and hands-on technical work — not a pure driving role.
Produce written estimates for industrial, marine, and commercial blasting and coating projects. Read coating specifications, understand SSPC and ICRI standards, conduct site visits, and write line-itemed quotes. This is a hybrid office/field role — site visits are part of the job.
Don't see a role that fits? We keep strong applications on file and reach out when something opens. Send a resume and a short note about what you're looking for.
No black-box hiring. You'll know where you are in the process at every stage, and we won't ghost you.
Every application is read by a person — usually within 48 hours. If there's a fit, we call to schedule a phone screen. If there isn't, we send a real response instead of letting it go silent.
15–20 minute call with the department lead. Talk about experience, what you're looking for, and what the role actually involves day-to-day. Both sides decide if a shop visit makes sense.
Come see the actual yard and the actual work. Meet the people you'd be working with. Ask hard questions about the job — we'd rather you know what you're getting into than get surprised in week two.
For operator roles, spend half a day in the shop with a lead. For office roles, a short practical exercise related to the job. Paid at the standard rate for the day — your time is worth money.
Written offer with compensation, benefits, and start date. Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. First day is onboarding; second day is on the floor or in the bay.
Total typical hiring window: 2–3 weeks from application to first day. Emergency hires for critical openings can move faster — mention that when you apply if you're available to start immediately.
Our apprenticeship program is for Houston-area high school graduates who want to enter industrial trades but don't have a network or a path in. It's a paid, two-year program with a real career at the end, not an unpaid internship.
Learn blasting fundamentals, safe equipment handling, media selection, and quality control. Work alongside senior operators in the shop bays. Paid at $18/hr with full benefits.
Move into field work with a mobile rig crew. Learn containment, environmental controls, and field-quality documentation. Paid at $22/hr. OSHA 30 and confined space certification provided.
Graduate to full blast operator at $26/hr with full benefits. Opportunity to specialize in automotive, marine, or concrete based on interest and aptitude. Six graduates since 2020 — four still with us, one now a field lead.
We accept applications for all positions through this form. Attach a resume or cover letter if you have one — if you don't, tell us about your experience in the message field. Both work.
Response within 48 hours, always. Even if the answer is no.
