Every job that leaves this yard passes through at least four of the people on this page — the estimator who priced it, the blast operator who ran it, the inspector who measured it, and the project lead who signed off on it. None of that work is outsourced.
Below is the crew, organized by department, with the roles each person actually fills.
Four department leads plus the founder. Between them: 84 years in blasting and protective coatings.
Spent fifteen years as an industrial coatings inspector before starting PrecisionBlast in 2008. Walks every major job before it's quoted. Still holds a current NACE Level 2 inspector certification.
Runs the mobile division. Fifteen years in industrial field service, eight of them at PrecisionBlast. Coordinates every rig deployment, turnaround schedule, and emergency call-out.
Twelve years stripping classic and custom cars. Started as an apprentice at a Houston restoration shop, joined us in 2018 to build out the automotive division. Personally strips every sensitive panel.
Former OSHA compliance officer. Runs our safety program, holds the SSPC-QP audit relationship, and personally reviews every confined-space and hot-work permit before it's submitted to a client site.
Runs both the powder coat line and the wet-coat application bays. Twenty-two years applying industrial coatings; ten at PrecisionBlast. Handles all custom color matching.
Nine field operators across the six mobile rigs. Every one holds an OSHA 30 card; most have been with us five years or more.
Six people run the shop blasting bays and the powder coat line. Between them they produce roughly 340 finished parts a week.
Three technicians dedicated to classic, custom and motorcycle work. Currently booked 4–6 weeks out.
Four people handle estimates, scheduling, safety documentation, and accounts. This is where every job actually starts.
Blasting is a trade that eats its people if you let it. Heat, noise, silica dust, and physical strain are real hazards and we don't pretend otherwise. What we do instead is staff the shop so nobody's running a rig alone for ten hours in August, and pay for the safety gear that actually works instead of the cheapest legal version.
The shop runs on a four-day-on, three-day-off cycle for the field crews, which is unusual in this industry. Turnover is roughly half the national average for industrial trades.
Field crews work four 10-hour days and have three off. Shop crews work standard Monday–Friday.
Supplied-air respirators, climate-controlled blast hoods, and hearing protection on every job. The gear gets replaced when it's worn, not when it fails.
OSHA 30, confined space, and SSPC training all paid for by the shop. Two operators per year go through NACE inspector training on our dime.
Two-year paid apprenticeship for Houston-area high school graduates. Six graduates since 2020, four still with the company and one now a field lead.
